About Radenín
Radenín is a village in the Tábor District of the South Bohemian Region, Czech Republic, about 12 km east of Tábor. First recorded in 1300, it has a castle that grew from a fortress mentioned in 1363. Jews lived here from the early seventeenth century; by 1853 they numbered 190, about a fifth of the population, with a synagogue rebuilt in 1804 and a cemetery founded in the later 1600s, but only nine remained by 1930. Rabbi Daniel Frank, rabbi of Kolín from 1839 to 1860, is recorded as a native of Radenín (born about 1796).
