80 CE–140 CE
Soranus of Ephesus (active early 2nd century CE) was a Greek physician of the Methodist school who practiced in Rome and is best known for his treatise on gynecology, one of the most important ancient works on women's health, childbirth, and the care of infants. His writings were influential for centuries, partly through later Latin adaptations.
