Perseverance of the Saints

Will those truly chosen by God always endure to the end?

Perseverance of the saints is the doctrine that those truly elect by God will finally persevere in faith to salvation, traced to Augustine's On the Gift of Perseverance and affirmed at the Synod of Dort. The traditions differ: Reformed theology affirms it, while Catholic, Orthodox, and Arminian traditions reject it, holding that a believer may genuinely fall away from grace.
