Typology

Read the old story again and Christ is already hidden in it, waiting to be seen

Typology reads people and events of the Old Testament as foreshadowings, or "types," of Christ and the Church. Paul calls the Exodus generation examples for believers in 1 Corinthians 10, and the Letter to the Hebrews reads the priesthood and sacrifices as pointing forward. Early writers like Melito of Sardis developed this approach, treating earlier figures as patterns whose deeper meaning is unveiled in the Gospel.
