The Field of Reeds (Blessed Afterlife)
A heavenly Egypt of endless harvests — where little servant-figurines did your chores.
Egyptians pictured the reward of the justified dead as the Field of Reeds: a lush, well-watered land of plentiful harvests, a heavenly counterpart to the fertile Egypt they knew. There the blessed dead lived in peace and abundance — though they might still be called to labor, which is why tombs were stocked with shabti figurines to do the work in their stead.
