Sefer Etz Chaim and Tanya

Both texts discuss nitzotzot and shevirat-hakelim. Text 1 (Etz Chaim) emphasizes the systematic process of birur (refinement) of sparks through hierarchical levels, with sparks ascending through zivugim and being refined in progressively higher vessels. Text 2 (Tanya) emphasizes the impurity (tumah) aspect of fallen sparks from shevirat-hakelim and their contamination of the soul's faculties. Text 1 focuses on the mechanics of refinement and elevation; Text 2 focuses on the spiritual contamination and impurity that results from the broken vessels. Both accept the doctrine but highlight different implications.
