Sunday (Lord's Day) Observance

Christians moved their weekly worship to the day Christ rose from the dead

From very early times, attested in the Didache, Ignatius, and Justin Martyr, Christians gathered on the first day of the week, the Lord's Day, to worship in memory of the Resurrection. Sunday worship is near-universal, but traditions differ on how far the Sabbath's rest transfers to it: Puritan Sabbatarianism stressed strict rest, while Seventh-day Adventists and Seventh Day Baptists keep Saturday instead.
