The Perceiver in the Void (Pralayākala)

Sunk in objectless blankness — respite from the world of things, but the dim rest of deep sleep, not awakening.

The pralayākala is the perceiver for whom the world of distinct objects has dissolved away — sunk in a blank, objectless state like dreamless sleep or the quiescence between cosmic cycles (pralaya). There is rest from duality here, but it is the rest of a kind of unconsciousness, not the fullness of awakening, and the latent seeds of limitation remain. So this subject, though emptied of the manifest world, is still counted among the unliberated grades.
