The Insightful Perceiver (Vijñānākala)

The vijñānākala stands just above the veil of māyā, at the very threshold of freedom: a subject of pure awareness, no longer entangled in action, who possesses genuine liberating insight. Yet this perceiver does not cross over, for a final residue of separate selfhood still remains. It is the subtlest of the three unliberated grades — insight nearly complete, freedom withheld by the faintest sense of a private 'I.'
