Toldot HaTum'ah (Secondary Impurity)
Items that did not start out impure but caught it by touching a primary source (av-tumah). They pass it along in successively weaker degrees — first, second, third, fourth (rishon → sheni → shlishi → revii) — each step a little less contagious than the last.
Items that became impure by contact with av-tumah; transmit further degrees (rishon → sheni → shlishi → revii).
