The Five Powers of Śiva (Pañca-Śakti)

Five faces of one living awareness: it is, it delights, it wills, it knows, it acts.

Kashmir Shaivism describes the divine not as a featureless absolute but as consciousness brimming with power, and it names five basic powers through which that consciousness lives: the sheer power to be aware (cit), the bliss of resting in itself (ānanda), the power to will or desire (icchā), the power to know (jñāna), and the power to act and create (kriyā). Every experience, divine or human, is a play of these five. They are not five different things added to consciousness but five faces of its one living nature.
