Tattva 25 — Excretion (Pāyu)
The power to release: the subtle faculty of elimination and letting go.
Pāyu is the capacity for excretion — the subtle power of eliminating and releasing what the body must let go of. The fourth of the five action-faculties, it represents one of the basic functions by which an embodied being maintains itself. As a tattva it is the eliminating-power itself, distinct from the bodily organ.
