Rome
26 CE–102 CE
Tiberius Catius Silius Italicus (c. 26-c. 102 CE) was a Roman senator, consul, and Latin epic poet, author of the Punica, the longest surviving poem in Latin. The epic recounts the Second Punic War between Rome and Carthage and the struggle against Hannibal, modeling itself on Virgil and the historian Livy.
