Curtius Rufus, Quintus

Curtius Rufus, Quintus

15 CE75 CE

Quintus Curtius Rufus was a Roman historian, most often dated to the 1st century CE, though his exact period is debated. He wrote a 'History of Alexander the Great' in Latin, a vivid and rhetorical narrative of the Macedonian king's campaigns; parts of it are lost, but much survives and it remains an important, if dramatized, source for Alexander's life. Almost nothing is known of the author himself.
