Florus, Lucius Annaeus

Florus was a Roman historian active in the early 2nd century CE, under the emperors Trajan and Hadrian. He wrote a brief, rhetorical 'Epitome of Roman History,' largely based on Livy, organizing Rome's wars into a dramatic narrative of the people's growth and maturity. He is often identified with the poet and friend of Hadrian of the same name, though this remains uncertain.
